Since inception of the school with 45 students on 19th July 1999, ASHA-LATA VIDYALAYA now has 205 differently able students on roll as on 1st June 2015. School provides education from class 1 to 12 for all categories of challenged children, Visually impaired, Hearing Impaired, Orthopedically impaired, Intellectually challenged & students with Autism, CP and Multiple disabilities under one premises. It provides free education up to class 12, including free computer education up to Diploma in computer application ( DCA ) to all poor students. Best ever result has been achieved in std. 10 JAC Board Examination in year 2014-15. We are happy to share the achievements with all our supporters and well wishers.

Total 15 students, 4 visually impaired, 9 Hearing impaired & 2 Orthopedically Impaired students passed 10th board exam. 9 got first division, 6 got second division.

.Unique feature of the School is that it is working for education of all categories of disabled children, which is very rare in disability sector. Due to their integration, it has been observed that the children empathize with each other and try to fill in for others disabilities. This has brought a strong feeling of companionship and team spirit and their co-ordination in various projects has been exemplary and achievements are remarkable. .It also monitors all its student’s progress after class XII and give them support and guidance till they are properly rehabilitated in the main stream of the society. In year 2013-14 one cerebral palsy student Aadrsh Vikram passed 10th Board.
In year 2012-13 two of our girl Visually Impaired girl students Krishna & Nishtha got 1st & 3rd rank in Jharkhand.
Visually impaired students are reading & writing in Brail. Large no. of books are available in Brail. Though it is not a residential school, students from far away places, like Dhanbad are enrolling in this school for education. FACULTIES AT ASHA-LATA VIDYALAYA Trained & dedicated teachers, Special Educators take regular classes to teach students under each category of disability separately.
